In early summer of 2002, I got to explore Thailand with Ling. She had already been there for about 5 months doing a study abroad program, so she had learned her way around some. It was amazing, beautiful, enlightening, and everything else. We partied and danced till 5:00 AM, we explored ancient temples, we ate like little pigs, and even rode elephants. I would strongly encourage anyone to go and check it out. (sorry the scans on this page are horrible)

This is Ling and me going down the river to the water market a couple of hours from Bangkok.
Wow!

Can you guess what this is?

We spent a few days in . This was a bar on the beach. We spent ALOT of time on that hammock with our pina coladas
Every night the bartenders would do an amazing fireshow. After watching for a couple of nights, Ling gave it a try.
The beach was so beautiful and perfect! I spent alot of time there.
While Ling and I were waiting for a bus, she got to practice her muy thai on a willing Russian scuba instructor

Heres Ling riding the elephant through the forest. While waiting to ride the elephants, the craziest thing happened to me. I was watching an elephant trainer feed a 5 ft tall baby elephant, and he was telling the elephant to do tricks for me. The huge baby stood up on his back legs and then he kissed me on the cheek with his trunk. He was adorable! Everything seemed fine and dandy until the baby started slowly wrapping his trunk around my forearm. I thought he was doing another trick or something until he brought my arm to his mouth and bit it- HARD. I screamed and started pulling away. The baby quickly let go and just looked at me. My arm hurt like hell. I had felt my bone bending for that split second. I'm glad he didnt bite any harder or it surely would have been broken. I escaped with only brusies and a couple of teeth marks, but it healed up and didnt leave a scar. Lucky me!!!!!!!
